Audited Supplier Three years after the 9.0 magnitude Tōhoku earthquake and subsequent tsunami that caused the Fukushima nuclear meltdown, it was time to start rebuilding the area. The site needed modular flat pack containers to construct quick temporary housing for workers who were there to help final cleanup and rebuilding.
In 2014, the main issues the Fukushima area was dealing with was toxic groundwater from the radioactive spill off.
Japan needed safe accommodations, canteens, and emergency facilities for more than 1,200 scientists, relief, and construction workers to continue cleaning the site and start rebuilding. A China manufacturer was selected to deliver all-in-one emergency modular flat pack containers as housing shelters. The site needed a total of 3,500 square meters of living space in 25 days. It took 8 days to assemble the modular flat pack containers structures, after which the next stage of Fukushima site cleanup was able to commence.
